CSA stands for community supported agriculture. Becoming a member of a CSA is a great way to connect with your local farm, providing you peace of mind with how your food is produced. The support from our members gives us a sense of market security, allowing us to confidently continue raising our animals and offering healthy pastures raised products. A CSA is a win-win opportunity for both the farmer and consumer. The support from our CSA members will help to offset the costs of the upcoming growing season and in turn each month we will provide you with a trustworthy source of pastured meat products at a discounted rate. Since most products are frozen (eggs are fresh and whole chicken may be fresh depending on timing of processing), the sealed packages can be kept in a freezer allowing you to consume them long after the CSA season comes to an end.
CSA share and policies
Picking up your share
The summer CSA season will run for 5 months, beginning in June 2018 and ending in October 2018. Pick-ups will occur on the second Tuesday of each month at the farm, between 5:30pm-7pm. Your share will include a variety of meats and eggs and will be determined by the availability of each cut as well as your share size.
On the first pickup day, you will be provided with a plastic tote filled with your first month’s share which you can use to transport home. We just ask that you bring the tote back on the next pickup day and we will have a new tote with your share contents to exchange with you.
Members are expected to pick up shares on time and if you cannot make it to pick up your share, please contact either John or Sarah at least 24hrs in advance to make other arrangements. We understand that sometimes things come up and life happens, but if a share is forgotten or not picked up without prior arrangements, that month’s share will be forfeited back to Willow View Farm without a refund.
CSA Sign up and Payment
To become a Willow View Farm CSA member, we ask that you thoroughly read the information and policies we have provided and fill out an application. Once signed and dated, the membership application form will act as your contract, and a copy should be kept for your personal records. Please include full payment at time of sign up. We will have limited membership availability this first season, so it will be best to sign up and pay for your share early. We accept cash or check and also offer a PayPal payment option on our "contact us" page. Payments made on our website will include an additional 3% to cover convenience fees. Please make checks out to Willow View Farm.
What’s in a Share?
Fulfilling your share each month is our number one priority and we will do our best to include every cut as it is listed in the package details below. But we cannot make any guarantees as to how weather, disease, predation, etc. may affect our animals or our farm during the growing season. By becoming a member of our CSA, you are agreeing to take on some of the risks associated with farming and raising livestock in a natural environment.
